The Eastern Blanket Dance was given to us/we by Cathy Crippen at a Machapunga Skaru're Pow Wow at Moratoc Park beside the Roanoke River. We dance it in her honor. Knowledge of Blues Wool Blankets comes from Mat Randolph and Mary Burnette in Georgetown, SC, and my momma's father's people on John's and Kiawah Islands, SC. The historical significance of indigo dyed blankets and quilts comes from research done by Dr. Carolyn Pierce Reyes, Carola Jones, Doris Jones, and Mattie Randolph.
